Honestly, is Middlebury as hard to get into as it supposedly is?
Is it even harder for international students?!
Please help:)

Everywhere is harder for international students.

Everywhere is even harder than that if the international students need financial aid.

Actually, if you are from a little known country, then it might get easier for you! Its all about promoting diversity.

Im originally from Scotland but I live in a small-ish city in England, so I guess it wont help in my favour right?

^Probably not. But it’s still really cool that you’re from Scotland!

Isn’t Middlebury need blind for internationals?

Yeah its need blind:)
I just wanted to know if it was a hard school to get into?

^^ Not anymore. Williams too. :(

With nearly 8,000 applications this year, I’d imagine the overall admit rate will be between 17 and 20 percent. If you’re a woman, the competition is even worse, as Midd gets significantly more applications from women than it does from men. Last year, with 1,000 fewer applications, the admit rate for women was around 17.5 percent.

If past trends continue, around 88% of those admitted will be in the top 10% of their high school class. Those that aren’t likely are recruited athletes, URMs, or development cases.

So yes, Middlebury is highly selective. Put your best foot forward, keep your chin up, and think good thoughts. Best of luck!

Middlebury and Williams are no longer need-blind for int’l students.

My mum called them up and asked and they said that they are need blind?:\ since when did they become need aware?

Middlebury is need blind for international students “to the degree that resources permit.” In other words, if and when they expend their international financial aid budget (which is among the highest of all LACs), then they will start admitting students based on their ability to pay.

Both Williams and Middlebury continue to meet the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted international students.
