Is it hard to transfer from a CSU to CSU?

Hey y’all,
I just made a bad decision transferring from a CC to CSU Chico. I came here because everything was paid for, but now 4 weeks of school experience here and I hate the environment here. I was wondering if it is possible to transfer from chico to San Diego state. Im a junior now obviously and taking some of my UD classes, so would these transfer as well when I transfer to SD or am i stuck here for 2 years?!!!
thanks!
p.s. ill have around a 3.5 and my major is cell molec bio

My son goes to school there and loves it. so I am biased. 4 weeks isn’t much of a chance.

It is unclear what you hate about the school but, with 17k students, there must be some with whom you share a common bond. Something attracted you to the school when you applied and choose the school. You knew it was inland, away from major metro areas and a LONG drive to the beach.

I’d encourage you to engage in the campus. Spend your free time on campus and at Wrec. Join some stuff, attend on-campus and near campus events like ‘Taste of Chico’ - fraternity/sorority rush is this week, check them out. get a part time job on-near campus.

Honestly, you’ll have a tough time transferring anywhere without adding a year or more to your college career. SDSU is over-run with transfer applicants and saves most of their seats for students from ‘local’ community colleges. They only accept Jr level transfers. You can apply but, it is unlikely you’d get in

if you are really miserable, you can withdraw and apply to other schools for next year. A transcript full of Ws won’t help your chances.

SDSU is tough and competitive, and you probably will have a rough time trying to get in because they will look at your units. I agree with @NCalRent.

Ill have 84 units after this semester at Chico and around a 3.3 overall GPA

You can’t transfer as a Senior to SDSU. You will have over 70 units which is the maximum for transfer. http://arweb.sdsu.edu/es/advising/gradrequnits.html

Also, SDSU is impacted in all majors. You’re already 4 weeks into the semester, and you would have to take a W for all of your current classes which would look bad on your transcript. Even though the UC’s start this week, I don’t think you could get in anywhere.

You haven’t been there for long; why do you want to transfer?
