Is it harder or easier for asians to get in to good schools?

^^

harder… too many of us applying to the same schools LOL

Asians arent URM, but so arent Indians or middle easterners, or white people. Ethnicity really only benefits black people, native americans, and hispanics

I wish i was black so i could be a URM

It depends on the school. Asians are generally over-represented in the applicant pools of the Ivies and widely known research universities, partly due to the cultural expectation that a student will attend a school that everyone in their country of origin has heard of. However, that is not the case with LACs (Liberal Arts Colleges). You may find you are an under represented group that, and that can help your admissions chances. So colleges like Amherst, Swarthmore, Williams, etc. might look more favorably upon your application. And… if you are male, you are a sort of URM at a lot of schools, especially LACs. For example, Pomona, one of the top LACs gets far more applications from women than from men. A male applicant with the same stats as a female applicant has a much better chance of admission. And once you get past the top 20 universities, being Asian doesn’t make any difference. So, @thegrant, I think you have your wish, you are a URM at many schools.

Hispanic is not a URM in California…
