Is it impossible to get into a 4-year university with a 2.02 GPA, 1800+ Sat Score

Along with a great, powerful college essay and plenty hours of community service?

It depends on the university. Your SATs are good, but your GPA is low, and that’s going to be their primary concern. Still, there are plenty of colleges out there that you could look at.

If there are mitigating factors to your GPA, that might help. For example, if your GPA started very low in freshman year but has been on the rise since.

If I knew where you wanted to go to school re: region, I could suggest some possible schools, but in general, just to get you thinking, I might have you look at: Curry College, Youngstown State U, U Texas El Paso, King College, Dean College, West Coast U, Western Kentucky U, U Toledo, U Alaska, U Maine Augusta, U Maine Fort Kent, Albertus Magnus, Anna Maria College, U Montana, Paul Smith’s College, SUNY Maritime, Alfred U, U Rhode Island, U New England, U Southern Maine, and lots more.

there are quite a few colleges that accept all high school grads.
according the college board, the number of 4 year places that accept all high school grads is 297…soo you have at least those places that would take those scores

You might want to take a look at BU college of general studies.

what colleges can i look at in NJ/NY/PA area? thanks

Wow, again, you really need to stop with the ■■■■■ posts. a 2.02 will not get you into CGS.

Stop it diontechristmas this is a slight reach to match and you know that.

Schools you should apply to in the Boston/NH/RI/PA region

Temple University
BU CGS
Suffolk University
Umass Boston
Umass Lowell
Umass Dartmouth
Keene State
Plymouth State
University of Southern New Hampshire
Salem State
Fitchburg State
Bridgewater Sate
Curry College
Roger Williams University
Salve Regina
URI

You should get into some PA state schools like Kutztwon, East Stroudsburg and the like

How about any CUNYS? (Hunter or Queens??) or St.Johns??

Yeah, a 2.0 won’t get you into Temple. Pretty sure the minimum is a 2.6 for D-I athletes, so nowhere close for students…

Temple is a match especially with 1800+

I think I’d know better than you would; a 2.02 will not get you into Temple. I dont care that they have an 1800+ on the SATs. That’s not even a big deal at Temple.

go to McGill

A 2.0 probably won’t get you into temple. I know a lot of people with higher gpa’s and 1600+ SAT scores who were turned down, but I guess it could be worth applying to as a reach.

Other PA schools that might take you:

Kutztown
ESU
Bloomsburg
West Chester
IUP
Clarion
Shippensburg

Or basically any prestigious community college equivalent.

I dont think a 2.0 gets you into West Chester.

This obviously doesn’t answer your question, but think carefully about whether you really want to go to a 4-year college now. If you go to a community college for a couple of years, and get good grades there, you may well be able to transfer into a 4-year college that is better than the ones that will take you now.

My thoughts exactly phead128. Its paying for bunker hill community college plus the name.

diontechristmas- you’re probably right, I just looked at the common data set on collegeboard. I think the other ones are good matches though.

I don’t know if you’d be able to pull of any CUNYs, but St. John’s might take a 2.02 with some stellar SAT scores. As would CW Post and Adelphi, maybe…
