Every month it's the same questions over and over again. Not necessarily by the same people, but they're all identical. Why post a new thread when you can just scroll down or browse for a thread that is ready with all the information you need? It's faster and easier, and the advice a person would get from a new thread would be identical to the posts in older threads, since it's basically the same people giving advice every time.

we dont care bout what u think stuck... :p

its not just you. maybe the mods should start stickying worthwhile threads.

it takes too much time to monitor every thread...and they're not really bothering anyone

There's only so much you can discuss on an SAT forum anyway...may as well make new threads on the same topic!

^Yeayea :D

I was just pointing out that they're very redundant, and that browsing would save time for the people asking the questions, because they wouldn't have to wait for people to actually answer, especially if it's something urgent, and was posted at the last minute.

Sometimes I think of a question that I am sure has been discussed, but I have never seen it discussed and am not sure what keywords to search for. And it's a real pain to try to find a thread on a subject without knowing exact phrases, because tons of results that mention the words get returned. For example, this morning I started a thread asking for an explanation of middle 50%. Perhaps that has been asked before, but if I typed Middle 50% in the search engine I knew I would probably get tons of results. So, right now, I went and tried it: I got 250 results for Middle 50%. The words "what is" cannot be used in a search.

If the mods stickied the "worthwhile" threads, there would either be pages of stickies or nearly as many repeat threads. Plus, the threads would get so long that posts asking a slightly different question on the same topic would get lost in the flow (read: a new thread would still have to be created).
