ok, so in my high school, there's this thing called the honor council that's really prestigious. well, is it just me, or are all these election things merely popularity contests, because the most popular people always win these, not necessarily the most qualified, and i'm feeling quite upset about it.

all elections are popularity contests
just have a lot of friends and make sure u persuade them to vote for u

yes... Electrons are popularity contests... People vote for the guy whos most popular, not the people who are most qualified... Which is why an introvert like me won't become president of any clubs, gar...

If you can show the other members that you are a beast at the particular topic of the club, perhaps they may be convinced; however the outcome is often determined by the environment.

It's about playing the system.
