Is it just too late? (Northwestern/Medill)

<p>Here's my situation. I'm a second semester sophmore at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. (SUNY) I'm a Fashion Merch/business major (although I can't for the life of me remember why I chose this...) I'm transferring into a journalism program and have already been accepted to: Maryland, Missou, Northeastern. Waiting on BU but I think i'll be accepted. I know Northeastern/BU aren't known for their journalism programs, but they're close to home.</p>

<p>Anyway, Northwestern is my absolute DREAM school, but I didn't apply because I just assumed i'd never get in. Now i'm having second thoughts. Perhaps I should have just applied and hoped for the best. Is it too late to even bother putting in an application at this point?? (Mid-March) Through these boards, i've learned that Northwestern is more transfer friendly than other top schools, but Medill is really tough. OR should I go to one of the other schools for a year and apply to Northwestern next year?? I'm really conflicted... </p>

<p>My HS GPA = 3.75, don't remember ranking
SAT = 2010 (New SATs)
Didn't SATII/ACT... (hurts my chances???)</p>

<p>College GPA = 3.8, Lots of Liberal Arts because I knew early on that I wanted to transfer.
A few solid ECs, lots of work experience.
Strong Essay Writer
Rec would probably be a little weak because i'm not close with any of my professors. </p>

<p>If you read all this crap, I love you. I'm pretty sure i'm going to end up at Maryland next year but I simply can't get Northwestern out of my mind!!</p>

<p>Apply! Otherwise you'll always be wondering. You have a solid reason for wanting to transfer, which should help, and your GPA is great.</p>

<p>Have you done any ECs that show interest in journalism? That would probably be helpful too. Good luck!!</p>

<p>not to late at all. to echo trixee, deadline is in 1.5 months...i havent started my application either.</p>

<p>does Medill have a different deadline than the rest of undergrad, because i know there's is april 1st. i'm there with you though. junior hoping to transfer- to the the school of communications though. either way, best of luck- i say go for it.</p>

<p>well, I threw together a pretty decent "why northwestern" essay and sent in my application. I'm 98% sure I won't get in, but whatever. Hopefully it won't take too long for my transcripts/recommendations to get there...</p>
