As opposed to high school seniors looking to get an interview at their schools? I'm applying to about ten schools for the Spring 2011 semester and I really would like to get interviews at as many as possible.

Bump Some1 plz help me out with this.

It entirely depends on the school. None of the schools my D applied to gave interviews to transfers. If they’re available at colleges you’re applying to, by all means, take advantage of the opportunity to find out more about the school and tell them more about yourself.

Some schools don’t offer interviews for transfers, while other schools make them mandatory. Some want transfers to interview later than seniors. Others will give transfers an on campus interview, but not an alumni interview. Thus, I would be very surprised if you could interview at every single school.

Now is a good time to figure out each school’s policies and time lines. Take advantage of all the available interviews; it can only help you.

I applied, as a transfer, to about half a dozen schools. Two offered interviews - one by phone with an actual adcom, one in person with an alumnus. In the collective experience of my community college’s graduating class, transfer interview opportunities are very rare.

So, one can assume that if it’s even offered, it matters and you should do the necessary prep work. If it’s not, don’t sweat it.
