I am a junior, and am taking SAT I in March, and plan on taking 3-4 SAT Subject Test by senior year.
Is it necessary to take the ACT? Does it make an impact on colleges if i dont take it? And if I do, does it have any benefits?

lol no you do not need to take the ACT if you're taking the SAT but it doesn't hurt because a lot of people do better on the ACT than SAT...plus some schools do not require you to take the subject tests if you take the ACT with writing so..it could be beneficial to you to look into it

I think you should. Who knows you may do better on it than you do on the SAT. I mean it's only 1 saturday morning that you're really missing out on and you don't have to submit the score if you do bad

Like others have said, you probably should, as you might do better on it than the SAT, however, you don't need to. Even around where I live (Upper Midwest, traditionally more ACT-oriented), colleges are fine accepting the SAT, so you're really not hurting yourself by not taking it.

Exactly what thehoo said. I took the SAT twice after immense studying/prep courses, and my best score was 1370/2090. I took the ACT twice with very little studying, and my composite was 33.

Take both practice tests, and see which test caters best to you.
