Is it negative thing to quit Co-op in the middle?

I am just curious. I am F1 international student majoring in chemical engineering and there are VERY VERY few companies that recruit international students, meaning I do not have many choices.

If I get in Co-op program but ends up hating it for whatever reasons, is it possible to quit after a semester of working?

Not sure what you mean, nobody would stop you, but would be ill advised. Could be difficult to get your
next job/coop. They are not that long, why would you not be able to stick it out ?

I agree that it would not be a good thing to do.
You might have difficulties getting your next co-op not only because you wouldn’t get a good reference - but also because your action may upset your school. Schools take their relationships with companies that offer co-ops to their students very seriously. The last thing you want to do is to alienate the career center at your university!

You probably can.
You probably shouldn’t.
