to get the idea that you are being offered a spot? And if you do get that vibe what does it mean?

I don’t think you can know just from an interview that a person would be well qualified for a spot at a school. That being said I don’t think it’s really a vibe that you got accepted so much as the interviewer just likes you.

But what if this interviewer is the head of admissions?

Also, I will be applying for 10th grade although I technically should be in 11th next year. He was the one who brought this idea up at the end of the interview and stated it as such:

“How about you come to ********************** as a 10th grader…” and then we had a conversation about why.

Does this mean anything? I have no experience with interviewing so I have no idea but my father, who was separately interviewed, was told something similar and got the exact same vibe as I did.

what schools are you applying to??

I’d rather not say haha.

It does not mean anything toward admission.

It could affect admissions if you were really happy after the interview, and then went home and wrote an amazing essay for the application using the energy you have from doing really well in the interview

You weren’t being offered a spot. I think it’s just more that your interviewer was making sure that you knew the possible options.

i was thinking, based on the applicant do they select an interviewer? Like, if they think your a more important applicant will they have you interviewed from the head? etc.etc.

It is the interviewer’s job to show you the love. Don’t read into too much. My dd was clearly the most beloved candidate EVER. She was waitlisted at two schools who positively gushed about what a great fit she would be.

I believe part of it is that the interview is not the only part of the application. A good interview will definitely help but there are a lot of other factors too. The interviewers will put in a good word, but they are not the only ones who get to decide who is accepted.

Well, what did your interviewers say? My interviewer told my dad, “We’d love to have Insert my name here at our school”
