ok so i got deferred and athey are gonna manuall review me...how long does it usually take for the decision? also is this normal?

my stats were 3.6 u/w one of top 3 CA public schools

ACT 30

few but solid ECs (dedication to volunteering at specific org, student govt, etc)

im guessing b/c maybe since my stats arent as high as they should be...i got deferred?

Computer can automatically admit without review by human beings based on criteria (test score and class rank) provided by each college. Generally, that will apply only to high level applicants, and for at least the College of Business to none since it reviews all applications. As a result, vast majority of applicants go to "manual review" which means your file will be reviewed by admissions personnel to determine admission. Majority who go to manual review get admitted.

How long it can take varies -- you could learn whether you are admitted anywhere from days after going to manual review to sometime in early February.

Yeah, I'm guessing you applied to business. I'm waiting for review as well. I've heard they're going to admit a bunch of people in a week.

I actually applied to LAS as bio major (hopefully the manual review will change into aadmit status). I hope I get accepted :] I've been checking my account a lot.
