Is it odd to wear a college sweatshirt from a school you got accepted but won't attend?

As above. I’m wondering whether it is socially acceptable to buy/wear merch from a college I got accepted at but probably won’t attend. Thanks

As long as it’s not your college rival’s, who cares?

Is it warm & comfortable?

A lot of people wear state college clothes from their home state even if they never attended.

My oldest kid got a t shirt at the first college she visited. It’s a really nice looking, soft T-shirt. She didn’t attend. She eventually handed that shirt down to her sister who wore it a lot, having never applied there. Currently younger brother has it and wears it, and he didn’t apply there either. I’m pretty sure it’s the only piece of clothing all three kids have worn since they were little enough for onesies. We live across the country from this school and I don’t think most people here have even heard of it.

D’19 bought apparel at every school she visited except for one, and she wears them all regularly. She just likes college gear. Nobody thinks twice about it.

This. My wife wears a UW sweatshirt and she’s never attended there.

@woof2000 Congrats on the acceptance. Wear what you would like to. At my kids’ school around this time of year people keep asking those in college sweatshirts Are you going there? Did you get in there? Be prepared for the questions from now till May

I have an Amherst College sweatshirt that I still wear, and I bought it because their color is purple and I like purple. So wear what you’d like, no worries.

@RoaringMice: If you need to add to your wardrobe, Northwestern University & the University of Washington are also purple.

At my kid’s high school, students would be naked if they didn’t wear college sweatshirts from every college they visit. No, not odd at all.
