Is it ok to be undecided?

Almost all of my commonapp supplements require me to choose some area(s) of interest. All the choices are quite daunting, and it seems like choosing the undecided option is a cop out. It's not that I don't have a particular interest; it's that I have many, and I can't just choose one. Will my admission chances be harmed if I choose the undecided option?

Not directly, no, but without listing an intended major you might find it hard to answer some of the “Why this school / major” questions.

In a word - yes.
