Is it okay if I don't take Physics in high school?

I just got my schedule for my senior year today. My school doesn't offer AP Physics... only Honors/Regular Physics. I would've been able to fit Honors Physics into my schedule if I dropped AP Bio, but I didn't want to do that because Bio is my intended major. I hope to go into the medical field (a physician assistant, possibly). I would've been able to take regular Physics, but I'm already taking AP Biology (year long), AP English (year long), AP Psychology (one semester), and regular Calculus (one semester), and I really want to focus on those classes.

I don't want to take any more difficult classes my senior year because I know I'll be struggling with Calc enough as it is (higher-level math is my weak point). I took Honors Chem and I did good (I was taking Honors Pre-Calculus at the same time, so it was kind of hard to balance the two), but I heard that physics is mostly math, so I'm thinking that if I take Calc now, then in college I can focus more on physics.

Also, my school reserves AP classes almost entirely for seniors (AP Government and AP Calc are the only exceptions... I took AP Gov, but that was the only AP class I took).

I'm obviously not looking to get into a school such as Harvard, Yale, etc. :p Just a good state school is all I'm hoping for. Will not taking Physics ruin my chances or will I most likely be okay? Should I teach myself some basic physics before I go to college?

Most states schools require you to take Bio, Chem, and Physics or something along those lines such as Integrated Science I, II, and III

By now you should have some idea of which colleges you are targeting, so look on their websites to see which science classes they require or recommend. Especially as a science major, there are many public state schools that like to see physics as well as bio and chem. Cal Poly SLO would be one example.

You shouldn’t worry about it. You can always take Physics in college. It’s like with Calculus, some students don’t take it Senior year, and wait until college. There’s nothing wrong with that, completely normal. I mean, if you want to go to a PA institute, I’m sure they’ll require some type of physics.

Yes, it is okay.
