Is it okay to ignore emails from a school that one is not going to attend?

My husband and I (not just son) are receiving informational emails on summer orientation from two schools-- one my son didn’t even apply to and one that he squarely rejected.

We’ve hit the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of such emails multiple times…

I like the ferral chimp reference…funny!

I can certainly understand the venting about the incessant e-mails. I get frustrated by all the spam (non-collegiate) that I receive. But I have them sent to my junk box, and/or I hit delete. It’s really not “an issue”.

Feeling that you’ve been slapped in the face by the FA package is another story, and I believe that’s where the spam frustration (and this thread) got its legs. It’s your right to feel like you’ve been slapped in the face, but the more clearly you tell yourself “it’s *their *money”, and the quicker you learn “it’s not my money”, the more efficiently you’ll get over this “slap in the face”.

Sometimes I feel like I’ve been slapped in the face because I’m not Derek Jeter’s wife. Nor Donald Trump’s favorite niece.

But then I tell myself that my kids were admitted to great schools, they’re really happy and thriving, and life is good. And I send my spam to my junk box.

Again, it’s really not “an issue”.

I agree with Thumper1:

After that, direct anything from this college to your Spam box.
