I have the 2012 Barron's SAT US History test book, but apparently there's a 2014 edition available. Does this matter?

It probably doesn’t matter that much, assuming they haven’t changed the number of practice tests or anything. The test likely won’t cover anything that actually happened between the editions of the book, considering 1970s-present is only 1-3% of the overall test.

Thanks!

I though history is something cannot be changed. ;)

Does not matter.

Only difference is there is more emphasis on modern questions (1990-2002)

For questions similar to this & test prep books along with their dates, the only significance would relate to major changes between the years that they are published. With no significant changes between those years, it shouldn’t matter.

For example, when the SAT changed in 2005 or when it changes in 2016, the editions from the various publishers would/will make a difference.

At the same time, the materials from each period still serve you and in my humble opinion, you can still learn a lot from any edition. Just be wary of the changes on the test.

Best of luck!
