I feel as if I'm not getting the most out of college at my current school due to various reasons. I've tried to ride it out, but unfortunately I still have every desire to transfer. As of now I am a second year coming to the end of the fall semester with a couple units short of junior standing. I'm a first generation college student, on top of my campuses advising center not helping me with this transfer process, I'm not sure who to seek guidance from in the case of this particular situation. So my question here is, Is it possible and/or logical to transfer to a UC from a CSU my senior (4th year)? I understand that there is still time to apply for Fall 2015, but I'm not eligible as of now because I do not have the minimum 60 unit requirement. Any tips and help would be greatly appreciated!

First, you need 60 units (and no more than 90) at the end of spring semester, not now. Now is the time to apply!
Second, UC prefers transfers from Community Colleges (their logic is that a community college ends after two years- they are the logical continuation path; however a CSU allows you to complete a degree). However, it is possible to transfer from a CSU to a UC.
Third, each UC campus has a Community College Transfer outreach program office. Start with them and ask them who to contact for advising on how to transfer from a CSU to their campus. Within 3 phone calls (I predict) you will be in touch with someone who can help you.
