Is it possible for me to get into a CSU?

Hello! I am currently a senior and I have a 2.6 GPA ( im amazed i even have a 2.6). I was wondering if it is possible for me to be admitted into a CSU (northridge or long beach) because i did really horrible during my freshman and sophmore year… but during my jr year i did really good because reality struck me in the face… but it wasnt only my laziness that made me do horrible in my first two years…there were some personal problems. Anyways right now im taking chemistry,alg2,econ,korean3a,eng12,and yearbook. i plan to pass them all with a’s and b’s . what do u think?oh and i also got a couple ds in my transcript…

What is your CSU GPA? https://secure.csumentor.edu/planning/high_school/gpa_calculator.asp
What are your test scores?

Just based on your posted GPA, CSULB and CSUN are no’s.

You could look at CSU East Bay, Monterey Bay, Stanislaus, Bakersfield, Fresno, Channel Islands to name a few, which are not heavily impacted campuses like CSULB or CSUN.

You need to calculate your CSU eligilbity index:
(CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT composite x10)
You need a minimum 2900 EI for SAT or a 694 for ACT to apply.

You also need to meet the a-g course requirements with a C or better for all classes:

Senior year grades are not considered for admissions. Senior grades will allow to keep your provisional admission if accepted.

then would it be a better option for me to go to a community college and just transfer?

Yes, going to a CCC would be an excellent option. It will allow you time to work on your grades and study habits to prepare you for a 4 year university. Here is some information regarding CSU transfer requirements:

I would also check with your CCC advisor for the best path for you to get into your school of choice.
