Is it possible for me to raise my high school GPA to a 4.0 by the end of this year?

hello,

I am beginning my junior year of high school very soon. My GPA is currently a 3.89 and I was really aiming for that 4.0. Is it possible for me to raise my GPA about .11 this year? I typically achieve a 98-100 overall average per semester. Thanks!

Not if the highest grade is an A, or 4.0. Is there something higher than an A?

nope- my high school doesn’t go above a 4.0 for some strange reason

You can not raise your GPA to the maximum if it’s not already there…unless your school possibly has some sort of rounding policy (a 3.95 = 4.0).

I think that you worry too much. The difference between a 3.9 and a 4.0 won’t make or break your college admission.

If you keep getting straight A from now on, you will not get your GPA above 3.95 by graduation. Nevertheless, some school’s recalculate your GPA. If you have No grades lower than A-, you may be treated at 4.0 at some school’s already.

The top score-- in your school it’s 4.0-- is achieved by consistently getting the top scores. Any score that isn’t “top” pulls down that GPA.

So, no, it’s not possible to cancel out any grades you’ve gotten that pull your GPA down.

Not strange at all; it’s typical.

Anyway, as simple algebra would tell you, no it is not possible. That said, the difference in GPA will likely not be a deal breaker for the future. Good luck.
