Is it possible for me to transfer into a UC with a 2.4 cumulative GPA?

I'm almost done with my last semester at the community college that I am attending! I will be completing 65 semester units by the end of the term as well as all of my GED classes and pre-reqs! I'm a communications major and will have my AA-T degree, should I even bother applying to a UC or is my GPA too low? Do I have any chances?

I think you know your chances are slim. However, the application is pretty straightforward to fill out. You may want to spend the application fee to find out for sure. You definitely will not be accepted if you do not apply.

OTOH, I think there may be a GPA cutoff. First find out the GPA cutoff (ask at the community college transfer center) for UC and CSU, and proceed accordingly.

Your transfer GPA is pretty low for the UC’s but many of the Cal States would be a good option. There is no harm in applying, just realize your chances may be low. Here is the a list of transfer GPA’s for SJSU from 2014 which will give you an idea the required GPA’s for CSU’s.
