Well..the title kinda says it all. I was just wondering that if I was to apply EA to Notre Dame does that mean that I can't apply ED anywhere else. Thanks!

Early Action is non-binding. You can apply EA to as many schools as you want. As I understand it - if you apply to a school ED - Early Decision - you are agreeing to withdraw from all other schools and accept the admittance to the ED school if/once accepted.

I don’t know if you can ethically apply for more than one ED school or not.

I didn’t mean ED to more that one school. I meant ED to one school and EA to another. Thanks for your help!

Sure… my S applied EA to ND and ED to Duke, his first choice. Got accepted to both and went to Duke. As written above, EA is non-binding. It really just gives you a chance to know options earlier.

A few schools are single choice early action and you can only apply to that one school early. I do not believe that ND is in that group so you should be able to apply EA to ND and to another school ED. However, if you get accepted into your ED school you must attend and withdraw your application to ND.

I believe- and I’m not positive - but the school would be single choice early DECISION …early action is non-binding. Just important for kids to note the different terminology.

Early Decision is Early Decision; you can apply to one school and commit to attending if admitted. The term “Single Choice” refers to a non-binding early action application process which, like ED, only allows you to apply to one school. Early Action, at schools such as ND, is non-binding and non-restrictive. You can generally apply to as many schools via EA as you want

Thank you everyone! This cleared up the confusion :)
