<p>I am taking a "gap year" to take some college credits but also reapplying to schools at the same time. I am wondering if I have to apply as a Freshman applicant or transfer applicant. </p>

<p>for many schools, you’ll have to apply as a transfer. Contact every school you wish to apply to to find out their requirements. This is something that varies greatly.</p>

<p>UCs consider you a transfer applicant if you have taken college courses after the summer immediately after high school graduation.</p>
