Or can an applicant only be accepted to one major? Sorry if this question has been answered already!

If you are accepted to your first-choice major, that is the major with which you will enter USC. If you are passed over for your first-choice major but accepted to your second choice major, the 2nd is the major with which you will enter USC. In neither case will you enter with a double major.

USC strongly encourages students to double major, major/minor, major/double minor, even double major/double minor… So once you enter USC, you can look into the process of declaring a second major or minor(s) in other areas of interest.

Thank you!

How easy is it to switch from your declared major within the same college (College of Letters and Sciences)?

alamemom, Thornton admits are often admitted into both their first and second choice majors (for example jazz studies and popular music) provided they apply to and audition for both. Not to double major, but to pick one or the other. So perhaps this is true of some other schools within USC?

quomodo: within CLAS it is VERY easy to switch majors. it’s basically grabbing a couple signatures on a form.

I am applying for Chemical Engineering (first choice) and Business Admin (second choice). Could I get a double degree with these two? Or would a business minor be more doable? I might want to go into IBanking but I want to specialize in the environmental/chemical field as an analyst.
