<p>I selected Biomedical engineering as my first choice major. I realize that this is a very difficult field to get into at UT, and although my SAT stats are above the Cockrell average and would likely suffice for a somewhat less competitive field such as chemical engineering, I still doubt it's high enough to get me accepted into BME. However, is it possible to be rejected from this major while still being accepted to Cockrell in general?</p>
<p>You have to put down your first two choices, right? You can put BME first and mechanical second, for example. You do have to be accepted for a particular discipline, not just Cockrell in general.</p>
