I applied and was accepted into CAS as a biology major, but that was back when I had no idea what I wanted to be.
I now realize Health Science is what interests me most and I feel will lead to a greater number of job opportunities. What worries me is that the human physiology major is at a different school, at the College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences.
Is it possible to change majors or will I be stuck with biology or a different field at CAS?

I’m in a similar dilemma. I was accepted to the College of Engineering (when applying, I was interested in biomedical engineering), but now I’m leaning more toward my passion - neuroscience - which is a CAS major. I’m not sure how to go about transferring. Is it something we can call up admissions (or some other office) about? Or do you have to transfer as a regular student, after a semester or two in your college of acceptance? I’m really not certain. If anybody has ideas or advice, I’d love to hear them.

bump! If anybody has any answers, please post!

When I went to visit BU, the Director of Admissions made it sound like that it was very easy to transfer majors within different colleges within BU. I would imagine that transferring within the college prior to starting is very easy, but cross-colleges may pose difficulty. Try calling them during office hours!

Agree with NIck, i think transferring ot another major within CAS shouldn’t be too hard. Don’t know about going to CoE.

@Indavidual I just sent an email to the Office of Admissions asking about this; I’ll post the results when I get them. Best of luck!

Thanks a bunch my friend!

Current junior at BU here.

Changing your major from Biology to Health Sciences implies a direct change of schools from the College of Arts and Sciences to Sargent School of Health and Rehabilitation. Your declared major coming in is not firm and you can change to Sargent (and Health Sciences) by talking to an advisor and filling out some paperwork.

@Gladken
Thanks for your reply
I can do what you specified before the school year starts, correct?

So Indavidual, you are able to switch your program! Make sure you have your BU ID number (if not, they’ll just ask for home address and date of birth for verification purposes), and send Admissions an email explaining that you’ve been accepted to one BU college but your interests have changed. Thus far, I’ve had no issues. Best of luck! Hope it works out!

Current BU student.
