Is it possible to do this? Sounds crazy, but might work?

I transferred from NJIT to a CC last year, because of academic troubles. I got 2 F's in my 2nd semester, and they are still on my transcript. Since then, I've taken the equivalent of those 2 classes that I had failed at NJIT, in my new school. However, when I transfer to a 4 year uni, they will look at those 2 F's I got and probably automatically reject me. Is it possible to re-take those 2 classes at NJIT, even though I'm not enrolled there? Isn't there some way to take classes there as a visiting student?

bump for thoughts pls

Why would you take them again? Schools will see that you have already retaken them once. What grades did you get in the courses you retook at the cc?

and why would you ask us and not the school?

I got a C and a B, respectively, but neither of those grades replaced the ones on my NJIT transcript, because I took them at the CC. That’s why I want to take them at NJIT, so they replace the F’s on my transcript

I wouldn’t bother doing that. There are better uses of your time. Besides, it says on the website that all grades appear on the student transcript, just that they only use the better one for gpa calculations if it is a course numbered less than 299.

^^Yes, but my GPA at NJIT will not be affected by the classes I re-took, because I took them at another school. And I really want to bring my old GPA from NJIT up.

There is really no point to that. It’s better to focus on the here and now, and the grades you are getting at the cc. There will be some schools somewhere which are not going to reject you based on the F’s which will still be there, regardless. You need to go forwards as best you can and not dwell on the past failings.
