Is it possible to double major in...

Is it possible to double major in Journalism and Photography at NYU? I'm looking to do this and if it is/isn't possible I'd like to know.

And if anyone was just accepted or attends NYU with one or both of these majors could you leave your stats so I know where I stand?

Thank You.

I was accepted into Journalism in CAS with a 2080 SAT and a 4.3/5.0 GPA. I’m not sure whether that’s a possible combo, although I’m sure you could call the departments of Journalism and Photography to find out.

Do think it was relatively easier to get accepted into the Journalism major as opposed to others? I am getting pretty nervous because I want to go to college in state and I live in NYS. I don’t know of many other good schools here that offer an undergrad degree in journalism and NYU will probably end up being my 1st choice. By no means will I end up having an UW 4.0 but I am a fantastic writer (not from my mouth from my AP and Honors Class teachers) and do love to write about modern day issues and in other journalistic ways. I just don’t know what to think because I really don’t want to have to go to a SUNY school, although most offer journalism.

Bump… How hard is it to double major in CAS and graduate in 4 years? Anyone with insight???

It’s very possible to double major in CAS and graduate in 4 years. I know someone who’s double majoring and graduating in 3. And I myself am double majoring and graduating a semester early. To address the OP’s question:

(1) Photography is in Tisch school of the arts. If you applied for Journalism, you’ve been accepted into CAS. CAS students are not allowed to take majors from Tisch because well… It’s Tisch.

(2) IF you had applied to Tisch for photography, then you could have majored in journalism in CAS, as Tisch students are allowed to take a double major in another school. That is, assuming you had the time. Tisch majors are generally very credit intensive and don’t leave much free time to pursue other studies.
