Is it possible to get into CSU's with D's and F's?

Hello everyone!

I have three D’s and two F’s from a previous college I went to. They were all GE’s and had nothing to do with my major. I got dismissed and ended up attending a different community college and currently have a 3.7 with all GE’s done and major classes almost done. I’m trying to apply next year for CSU Spring 2019 but I won’t be allowed back to the first community college until spring 2019.
I’m not sure if they will allow me academic renewal before I apply because I’ll be dismissed so I’m already freaking out. These bad grades are from 2015-2016 so if I still have them on my application how much will it affect me? Unfortunately the grades from the other school lower my GPA to about a 3.03 which sucks. I’m really hoping for CSUF Business and I’m not local.

As a non-local transfer, your GPA puts you on the bubble for Fullerton. Fortunately, virtually all of the CSUs offer decent Biz programs. Apply someplace else that’s highly likely to admit you. SF, Sac and SJ are good candidates -
Note though that you need to pick the right concentration at SJ - you are in for Finance but, not general biz…
