Is it possible to get into Yale with...

My friend had a 4.0 and 1600 SAT this year but got deferred and then rejected. He was also involved in many ECs, but he may have come off as dispassionate. I don't know.

I had pretty much straight B's my frosh and first semester of soph year. (I had a few sparse A's.) Ever since then, I have had straight A's. I took/am taking the hardest course load and the most AP's in my class. Does it matter? Am I screwed?

I hope not! same with me, I think I had 4 A's, 8 B's and a 2 C's my freshman year, then 7 A's and 4 B's my sophmore year, and all A's my junior year, and hopefully my senior year, but my GPA is stil pretty high, like a 3.6-3.8 UW and a 4.1-4.3 W, so it wont hurt too bad, I talked to the admissions office, and they said they like to see an "upward" trend in grades, showing your becoming more mature... just make sure to do extra well on SAT's and essays/ec's and well have as good a shot as one can have when applying to yale...

also consider the UC's, Stanford, and Princeton, who throw out Freshman year grades, which end up boosting GPA's like .6 full points, from like 3.7 to 4.3, so it makes a BIG difference, especially if you did bad your freshman year, like you and me!!! :)

I knew the UC's did...but Princeton too? Where is that info from?

Come on, man. EVERYONE knows that. =P

They don't let you list ninth grade clubs or awards either. And you can't get recs from ninth grade teachers (unless if it's the optional supplementary rec).
