Is it possible to get recruited by The Harvard Crimson?

You know how applicants can get recruited by the football or lacrosse team and get a leg up in admissions?

I was wondering if a person could get recruited by The Harvard Crimson as a photojournalist (if said person has gotten numerous national and international recognition for his/her photography).

Simply curious. Thanks!

No, students have to go through a competitive process of “comping” to be able to work on the Crimson. If you’re good, you’ll make it through the selection. Also, The Crimson is independent of the university, so admissions would not have any connection to the paper’s staff.

That’s a funny thought. recruited by Harvard for their newspaper. lawl

Any recruiting is directed toward athletic standouts with relatively good SAT scores and a tiny echelon of kids with ridiculous academic potential who would have gotten anyway. Sorry. Talk about your photography in your application, and submit a portfolio.

people who never finished their comp please raise your hand
