On the common application, it asks for you to state all the tests youve taken.

And so I have two decent SAT II scores (biology and chemsitry), and two horrible SAT II scores (US History and math)

and my question is,

should i list only bio and chem on common app since yale only requires two?
but the website says that "we ask students to list all test scores".

So even if i put down math and US history, yale will only look at chem an bio, since theyre my two highest scores? or will math and US hurt my chances. or should i even write them down?

when you forward your scores from collegeboard, they're going to send all of them regardless. However, I'm pretty sure only your two highest ones will count. So I'd say write them all because they're all going to be seen, but don't stress out about it.

That's just my opinion, I'm not an authority on this by any means. Good luck!

I'm not listing my lower SAT II's. It's not like it's an effort to hide them; obviously they're going to be sent anyways. If the school only requires two SAT II's why would you feel compelled to report more than that? On the Princeton application it specifies best results: "Please indicate below your best results to date on any of the following examinations and your future testing plans." But whatever, I doubt something like this is the difference between admittance and rejection. I'd say do whatever you want! and good luck. Don't fret the small things!

i am sending by A-Level results instead of sat2 tests, though i have given sat2.because i have good results. somewhere in yale site i read u ca substitute. any comments?

Yale is not score choice and therefore requires you to report/submit all test scores. Not reporting scores, which you are required to report, will make you look deceptive or stupid (ie can’t follow instructions). I don’t think that either would reflect well on your application.

*"Also, I called collegeboard, and not only did the representative tell me that there is no mark on your report that says you enabled score choice, but additionally, if you were to violate a school’s score-use policy (i.e. uncheck an SAT score even though the college doesn’t allow you to), they would never know. The only way they could know is for some reason they asked your college guidance counselor and they told them

So basically, score choice for SAT II’s works for ANY SCHOOL. So there is absolutely no reason to cancel an SAT II score, you can just uncheck it."*

(quoted from a different forum)
Is this true?

actually I believe you’re only required to send all SAT I scores. only collegeboard they don’t tell you not to hide your SAT II scores. for example, I took math I freshman year just for practice and I’m not submitting it with my score report because I did bad (750)

^for one thing, 750 on the brutally-curved math I is NOT bad. for another, no, if you submit ANY sat scores you must submit ALL sat scores, including all of you sat subject tests. no hiding from yale. that’s why i’m just submitting my act. :D

Many high school transcripts list all SAT 1 and 11 scores from every test and every date that you took them. They also lists scores of all AP tests taken.

Check and see if your high school lists these scores on your official transcript. If that’s the case, then you should report them all.

This subject has been discussed on multiple CC threads, and posters frequently post links to the relevant portions of the Yale website. It is beyond my understanding why students don’t check them. Don’t pool your ignorance here. Go to the source. The Yale Admissions website is the best, easiest way to find answers to questions like these.
