Is it possible to major in mech E while minoring in business at ucla?

Is it possible to major in mech E while minoring in business at ucla?

or are the two schools split up in a way that makes it difficult/ not suggested ?

There is no minor in “business.”

But if you’re referring to a minor in accounting or econ, then yes, it is possible.

differences between accounting and econ? (sorry prob stupid question)

which one focuses more on investment type ventures?

and is the finance minor also available?

there is no minor in econ, only minor in accounting. There are econ classes that reserve for business econ major dealing with price-pricing, investment, etc. (you can enroll in second pass if you are not business econ major). There is no finance minor.

ok.
do you think its worth it to do a minor in accounting?

i dont really have that much interest in the details of taxes and stuff, only for practical financial information that goes with running a business or investing in real estate, etc.

i hardly know anything about the accounting field, but if its just sitting behind a desk recording numbers then im not sure if it appeals to me (sorry no offense intended to anyone, simply would like some light on this subject)

I doubt any business or econ programs in undergraduate will prepare you to run your own business or investing in real estate (unless you enroll in those specific programs). I would recommend to minor in accounting as a safety if you cant not find job in your favorite major (accounting doesnt guarantee you a job, but generally easier to find a job).

Oops, sorry. I meant you can either get a minor in accounting or double major in econ.

double major in bizecon with an unrelated major like mech E?

haha is it even worth it?

I wouldn’t recommend it since you are spending so much time (6 years) and after graduation you will choose one path to go along. Unless time and money aren’t issues …

Yeah, it’s probably not worth the effort. If you were planning to double major in the College of Letters and Sciences, it’d be understandable. All you’d be taking is some extra upper division courses since your GE units are all already there. But across schools? You’d literally be forced to do twice the work.
