I didn't see this specific question answered in my search about REU programs, but I'm wondering if it's possible to do two REU programs. For example, I had an REU internship last year (as a rising junior) and would like to do another one this year.

However, a few of the program websites have explicitly stated that applicants who've already participated in an REU are not eligible. Although the vast majority of the program websites do not state this, I'm a bit concerned about how this will affect my chances (considering they're already so competitive).

If it helps, I'm a biological sciences major looking to do another marine science REU, as my school does not offer any marine science courses and that's what I would like to do for graduate school.
