I recently took the SAT test in March and let me tell you, the scores are not delightful. I have gotten a 1620 600M 480CR 540W. I know it's a horrible score and it makes me cringe whenever I think about it. Thus, I want to you guys on CC to help me and give me suggestions to raising my score by 400+. I don't know if its possible, but I'm willing to give it my all and hopefully you guys can help me along the way. Thanks in advance :).

Definitely man. Study hard. Do practice tests. Review what you got wrong. Rinse and repeat.

I am in exactly the same position! My math is 650, writing is 520 and CR is 490. I want to raise mine to a 2000 and my college counselor told me that I’m insane and that it isn’t possible. On the bright side, my tutor told me that 400 points in a bit of a reach but she’s seen people climb up 300 points. My tutor also told me that for the verbal, learn the Latin roots for words, therefore you don’t need to actually know the full definition of the word, only what it generally would mean I’ve learned about 40 roots and its helped me a lot!

Yes , of course you can . You can easily improve your math and writing skills with practice . Critical reading is a bit tougher to improve , but still doable , with (of course) practice . It will be easier for you to improve your scores separately ,doing sections of math or writing or cr again and again until you improve your score . Review your mistakes and try not to repeat them . It will take time and effort , but if you want it enough you can definitely get it

Start working in the Blue Book (The Official SAT Study Guide 2nd Edition). I promise that a section a day will increase your score by a lot.
