I was wonderin if it was possible to request an AC room, or are those rooms randomly distributed out?

I think at this point, you can't request to be put in an AC dorm (unless you're doing "reassignment," which can be a pretty messy process and isn't always fruitful). You can, though, request to have a window unit installed in your room if you have a doctor's note saying that you have allergies... and in most cases, this should be phrased as "allergies."

If you're an incoming student for this year, its too late to request such as seahorse pointed out. Otherwise, you can request one as Class of >2010, though there's no guarantee you'll get one. I heard that AC IS being installed during upgrades to some of the dorms over the next decade, but I wouldn't bet on it happening in time for you

yeah lots of people use that allergies trick. On another note, all East RA's have A/C in their rooms so something to keep that in mind for sophomore year

don't hate the allergies trick:) my roommate did it. of course she actually does get really bad migraines and stuff so that kind of made those days more pleasant for her, although the AC was never a necessity.

You have to pay about a decent amount of money for the AC window unit though...it's not like we got it for free. I believe you can still apply for a window unit...I don't think my roommate did until after we found out we were in Jarvis because I remember having to return a bunch of fans. If you have a legitimate reason for having AC contact them.

PS: You have to have proof, as in from a doctor. They won't generally give it to you without.
