Since the acceptance rate increases a lot for ED, I am considering switching one of my regular applications to early.
Kenyon is my top choice and I really wanna go there.
However, not like other schools like Colgate, Bucknell, Colorado College, and so on, there is no description for changing admission plans on Kenyon’s portal or website.
Do you think I can change it if I just email them and submit the ED agreement?
Or should I just do nothing and wait for regular decisions to come out?
I found this page but it’s pretty old and says nothing abt changing it after the deadline passed.
Best bet is to write the school and ask. Most schools allow for an extended time past normal deadlines to change. They also love knowing a sure
thing so write to admissions, explain that you now want to and ask if it is possible what the process is.
Call the admissions office Monday morning. If you get ahold of someone, explain your situation and ask. Find out if the person on the phone is a secretary or student just answering the phone or an actual admissions officer. If possible, try to speak to an admissions officer, the best would be if it is the AO who handles your state/area. If you speak to someone and you don’t get a firm answer, mention that you will be emailing.
If you don’t get ahold of someone or you speak to someone who says they “will check on it” for you and you don’t get a firm answer, then email immediately.
Very important that this is not your only reason for the switch and that you understand ED is a binding decision and are sure you 100% want to go there ahead of any other college.
