Is it possible to take AP exams while in college ?

From my understanding, I have to finish at least 60 semester units in order to transfer. That would makes about 15 credit units per semester. However, I took my first semester with only 8 units ( I was afraid that I would have screwed up if I had taken too many class ). Now I end up with AT LEAST 51 units to go and 3 semesters left - which means 17 units ~ 6 classes/semester. Do you think it's too harsh for an international student to handle this kind of course load ?

Is there another way around to reduce the course work ? Anything would work except taking another year to finish CCC ( 3 years at CCC is too much for me )

Also, since I am an international student, I did not get the chance to take any AP exams during high school. Is this possible for a college student to take AP exams ? ( I'm quite confident with my self-study skills )

I would appreciate any comment no matter how negative it is.

If there are subjects that you know pretty well you would be better off taking CLEP tests in those subjects. You would need to check with the school you are at and the school you are wanting to transfer to that they accept CLEP for credit.

There are a lot of subjects available that it is possible to CLEP out of if your school(s) accepts the credits.
