If so, how would you do it? ANyone know where the SATs are being held?

I was told by someone that there may be some kind of standby/same day option - but with a horrendous fee. I clicked the link for standby testing at the SAT site and it is not returning. I wonder why :)

I found that it is possible. Just walk in it says in another spot in the SAT site. If there are enough materials and staff you can do it, it says. It does not say anything about a form from the HS at this spot.

I am trying to ‘discover’ stuff of which I know nothing and making the appropriate notes as I am going along - for myself or for anyone else who might find themselves in this predicament. First I tried the SAT website for info. But when it just hung there, I went over to this forum to find more info. Maybe there was SOMEone in the WWW of CC who actually did standby recently and could adivse accordingly.

It looks like the SAT website did not give the full story here either since all it says as far as cost is ‘significant’. Now that’s funny. How about my first born son? oh, just take him. They’ll probably say with a smile ‘how much do you want to take the test?’ :)

So they might have the staff and materials - they probably will since this is the MW and most people do not do the SAT here - one reason we were not plugged into the reg windows - but they might lower a $10,000 cost on us. I’ll probably report back the outcome for info.

Here is another question to this community:

How long does it take to view the scores? I was told today by a college that there is enough time for a college to get the 10-9 scores in time for 11-1 early action deadline. However, for this to happen would we have to indicate ‘send directly to college X’ on the form? Or wd there be enuf time for us to first get the scores and then send them if they look ok?

Son seems to have plateaued on ACT so that was one reason we thought to try SAT.

The reason he cares about how many people take the SAT are because it’s an atypical testing center where most likely whoever signs up will be taking the test that day unlike in the U.S. where I’d say on average at least 5% miss the test for a variety of reasons.

I would definitely show up to the testing center on the test day. My reasoning behind this is College Board probably gave the testing center a few extra tests incase of water damage or anything of that nature.
