I am about to start my second semester at the college I currently go to, but I am interested in transferring to a different college for fall 2014. However, I would prefer to redo freshman year at the new college. Is this possible? Does anyone have any tips about doing this? Thanks for the help!

Not really. When you transfer, your new school will evaluate your transcript, match the eligible courses with the new curriculum and then place you in the courses that you qualify for. I suppose you can ask to take a course again if you really need to learn the material better but it will simply be an extra course you take.

I was wondering the same thing, since I only had a GED it seemed like getting into any college would be next to impossible. After my first semester at a CC I was thinking it would “feel” better to start over at a real college than continuing the crap I’m doing.

If you didn’t do well, look into academic renewal. You can disregard two entire semesters from your transcripts by doing this. Your counselor can explain the process.
