Is it possible to transfer to a good school with a bad first semester grade?

Hi, I am a freshman and I messed up my first semester. I will probably get like a 2.5 for all my classes. Is it possible to transfer next year if I pull off a really good grade the second semester and the third semester? Thanks.

Hey. The answer to your question is yes. You can definitely do it.

I am a sophomore and just got accepted to a top 35 national school for spring transfer…I got a 3.0 my first semester of college, then a 3.7 my second semester, and finally a 3.9 this semester.

My advice to you is to work hard in your classes and get your GPA up. Form good relationships with all of your teachers, but a couple in particular that you can count on for recommendation letters next year. Spend a lot of time writing a great essay that shows why you want to transfer. Finally, try to get a good internship this summer if you can, which will strengthen your chances.

You can do it. Good luck!

Spring or Fall 09 is definately possible

Thank you so much!
