Is it possible?

I am currently a high school junior living in California. My father is a firefighter, and my mother is a special ED teacher. I am very involved in musical theater and I am hopefully planning on studying it in college (at Fullerton). I have appeared in many, many productions, as well as doing professional work in some independent movies (small roles). Also, I am a host one of our local news shows. During my time in high school, I have suffered from chronic depression, which I have since conquered. Nonetheless...it has left a pretty big mark on my grades. On my transcript, it says that my UC/CSU 10-12 GPA is a 3.6. But it says that my 9-12 GPA is a 2.7. Ouch. And here's the real kicker...those could be weighted scores! when I calculate my UC/CSU GPA, I come to a 3.2 instead!
I have yet to take the SAT, but I am very smart, and my older brother (who is currently a junior at UCLA) said that without study I could probably get around a 1900. (My mom and English teacher agree that this area shouldn't be a problem for me)
So with an amazing sob-story essay about the hurdles I've faced, a few glowing letters of recommendation from my teachers and past directors, a few passed AP tests, and some great SAT scores, do I have a chance?
What things would help? Should I talk to a Fullerton Admissions worker?

Thanks for any help you could provide!

Please, any help would be awesome!

Look up posts by Prof. Himmelheber here on CC. I think he is a professor in the area of theater at CSU Fullerton. Maybe you can PM him and he’ll respond. I see by looking up his posting history that he last posted on 3/28/11, so he is still around.
