I do not have much Extra Curricular at ALL....but for what its worth it consists of church work (vacation bible school, president of youth group) and photography/videography (portraits, weddings, events, etc.)

The school that i'm trying to get into is Rutgers University, New Brunswick for business. I'm aware that my GPA won't fair well and my SAT is drastically lower than average here. I just want to know if there's even a glimmer of hope for acceptance, and that if at least a few other people with similar statistics got accepted as well.

Another school that i'd be happy about is Rowan University for business, and i'm just wondering what my chances are there too.

Since you are in New Jersey, your own guidance counselor surely will be able to give you a more accurate estimate of your chances at Rutgers than any of us can. Your high school has years worth of information about which students got in.

My guidance counselor said that if i raised my reading score by 100 i’d be able to have a chance. Again my SAT is a 1470 with…Reading: 470 Writing: 450 Math: 550. Would the fact that i’m asian have any factor into admission as well?

Jason, the fact that you’re asian likely won’t be a factor one way or another … you really need to have this whole conversation with your guidance counselor. He/she should know your background and your school’s profile better than any of us. Is it possible that the ACT test is a better way to assess your strengths? Your SAT scores along with your GPA suggest that you would not succeed at Rutgers even if you got in. Load your stats into a website like collegeboard or cappex and see what they say about good fit schools for you. It’s good you have leadership in your youth group, but your stats will play a stronger role in what college you get into more than your ECs. Once your stats are a match to the middle 50%, then they look at EC’s to differentiate candidates further.

I’ll be sure to ask my guidance counselor a few more questions about this thanks. Unfortunately she doesn’t know too much about sites such as cappex and parchment. Should i rely that either of these sources are accurate, because they both give me totally different chance percentages.

You have to take each as a data point … cappex seems to be more optimistic and others can be more pessimistic. Each site depends on the students (and parents) that post stats to those sites.
