To apply to a college in your junior year, get accepted, and then take a gap year to finish high school?
I was thinking about this, and while it may be hard to get in to a college as a junior, it would also be hard to concurrently get a hs degree.
Just something to think about.

Ummm . . . what would be the point of this?

If you feel you’re ready for college, but haven’t technically graduated high school, you could look for a dual enrollment program. I don’t know if your state has any government-covered dual enrollment programs, but I got to go to an expensive private college for two years in high school for free It was a lot nicer than applying to college early.

If not, I do actually know a couple people who applied to college, got accepted, and moved on without technically having finished high school. I get the impression that’s not what you want to do, though. Why do you want to apply as a junior?

No, you have to finish HS to be accepted. Put your energy into something more constructive ;).

^I usually don’t question super moderators, but don’t many privates, including the ivy league, not require a high school diploma for admittance?

Do you really think that either the HS GC or college are going to permit a student a year short on coursework to apply/be accepted?

To the OP, what would be the purpose of that in the first place? Spending a “gap year” finishing HS is not very different from finishing HS while applying to colleges…
