is it possible to self-study world history and ap environmental science starting from the very beginning just now, to take it THIS May?

PROBABLY not ap world since histories tend to be harder, but you can for sure to enviro , some people do it in a week or less :D

^Agreed! I was also planning on self-studying APES
But trying to self-study a history in one semester… shudders I pity anyone who does that. xD But then again, this is CC, so…

Oh, thanks for your input!! I’ll definitely do APES then. I should’ve clarified; I’m taking regular World History at school right now (my school doesn’t offer AP). Now what do you think about self-studying it?

Oh ok! That sounds better then xD

Look at the AP course outline on college board’s site before you make a final decision-maybe ask your teacher for a full year syllabus as well? That way you can compare and see how much effort it would take to self-study world for the ap exam. But I think you would be ok, provided you get the review books mentioned in your other thread.

Good luck in May! :)

ahhh sorry for more trouble. I really appreciate your responses!!

but for APES, is studying from an AP review book good enough, or do I need to buy a text book?

You do NOT need to buy a textbook! It’ll probably end up being a waste of time-just use free resources online to learn the material, e.g. Hippocampus and Course-Notes. Those sites usually have the best free AP resources. :)

DO get a review book though-everyone I’ve asked says PR is the best for APES.

And no worries! It’s no trouble at all :)

world history is still manageable if you work hard
just a tip: people say AP ES is pretty easy and should be taken lightly, but I don’t think so, I’d treat it as a normal AP. there’s a reason why only 9% of the people who took it got a 5.

i’ve started learning from here, [NROC Advanced Placement Environmental Science](http://www.montereyinstitute.org/courses/AP%20Environmental%20Science/nroc%20prototype%20files/coursestartc.html)

I’m waiting for my review book to arrive, but so far I’ve been taking notes for every lesson (I’ve done up to 8 so far) in that link, and it seems like a lot. Do I need to know it in that much detail?

It’s possible, but is obviously a major committment. Only try it if you are highly motivated!
