Hey guys so u just got the cracking the act book today, and I am taking the act on the 21 of September. I am going to be in 10 grade after summer ends, and I was wondering if I could get a 26/27 (or even higher) on my first time taking it by prepping through this book. I have been getting 23's and 22's on the real act book without studying.

Sorry I just took not u

Bummmmmmmp

Sure, why not!

No it’s not possible.

■■■■■■■■ question dude. Obviously it is.

It’s no surprise you got a 21, you only finished freshman year. I would cancel the September ACT and take it next year. I know you want to get a “feel” of the real ACT but it’s basically what you’ve been seeing in the Real ACT book. Anyone can get to 26/27.

K thanks for the advice

And you could have said that in a much pleasant way ketan, do u know what a forums for?

Yes, patel16 I do know what a forum is for: asking and answering insightful, thorough questions. But you my man, had just asked a very simple question to that we both know you know the answer to: IS IT POSSIBLE to get a 26 from a 23?

Of course it’s possible. You could even get a 36.

Maybe the question should be rephrased as “what is the best prep I should do to achieve a 26 on the ACT on September 21. I have a 23 thus far through practice. What Books should I buy? And if you can, please tell me how did your improvement in the test go and how you achieved it.”

Not, “is it possible.” That’s like asking if anyone has EVER gone from a 23 to 26.

Nevertheless, yes patel16, you can get a 26/27 bro. Buy the real act prep guide and finish all the tests in it and read all question explanations. Also, for a score of 26, i recommend PR Cracking the ACT. Finish both books.

Then you will have a score around 26ish. WHen you are a senior or junior, you’ll probably be around the 30’s.

Good luck my man. And start asking some better questions if you want some insightful answers instead of “yes” or “no.”

Thanks for your suggestion I just started to study from pr cracking the act book.

the best book to buy is “the red book.”

good luck!

I would honestly just wait until you’re a junior, unless you are taking pre-calc as a sophomore. Assuming you will be taking Algebra II like most sophomores, then you definitely just aren’t ready yet. The math probably seems really hard right now, but once you have been taught Trig and pre-calc it’s a breeze. Not to mention, I can’t even imagine trying to do well on the math without completing Algebra II… it just doesn’t seem possible to me.

There’s not much point in “wasting” a test as a sophomore IMO. Apparently it is frowned upon to take the ACT more than 2 or 3 times so why give up one when you aren’t ready for it? Practice tests should suffice if you just want to see where you’re at. It would make much more sense, to me at least, for you to just take it as a junior when you are all academically there. The ACT is unlike the SAT in that it is based on what you’ve been taught in school, so surely the older you are the more of an advantage you will have.

But to answer your question, it is definitely possible; however, I don’t know if it is possible by means of prep., rather than just waiting to be taught the material in school. Good luck.

Hey thanks! yea lots of people say don’t take it now but idk my parents already signed me up so I guess I should make the best of what I can do. And what types of algebra 2 questions are on the act? (I will be in algebra 2 this year) And don’t prep books cover all of that?

I took it my first time ( no studying ) and got 29. I took it a second time, again no studying and got a 31. My parents hired an act instructor and he says he can get it up to a 34 no problem, so im sure you can do it if you prep.

You can get a 26/27 no problem if you can read fast, and have had basic math courses. I got a 27 as a sophomore my first time without studying, and with having geometry as my highest math course taken at the time, although your math score will be really low unless you’ve completed pre cal (or at least algebra 2). My math score was so low that when I completed algebra 2 my junior year and retook the test, my math score alone brought my score up nearly 2 points so, don’t get discouraged if you land in the 24-25 composite range.

Ahhhhh! Thanks yeah I’m get 26’s in English, 22-23’s in math and science, but I do BAD on the reading ughh I hate it
