My first year and a half of high school was spent goofing off; I didn't take academics very seriously. However, mid sophomore year I buckled down and haven't had a B since.
My GPA UW is a 3.5 -- not amazing, I know. However, considering that I was able to bring it up from a 3.0 to a 3.5 in a matter of 3 semesters says something, right?
My report card has read nothing but As since the middle of sophomore year.
Do colleges really look for improvement?
I'm in all AP and honor classes. There is a positive correlation between the rigor of my classes and my grades.
I've taken the ACT twice
1st Composite: 29
Math: 29
Science: 30
Reading: 28
Writing: 29
Essay: 10
2nd Composite: 30
Math: 29
Reading: 32
Science: 26 (ouch)
Writing: 32
Essay 10
Overall superscore: 31
My extracurricular are very strong and accent my passions. Additionally, I've assumed noteworthy leadership positions in a few.
I have an internship, many hours of volunteer work, and job experience under my belt as well.
Lastly, my essays are very well-written, and I do not doubt that they will make an impression.
Is it possible to get into any of these schools:
Georgetown
Brown
Vassar
Emory
NYU
Wesleyan
Wash U
Boston College
Please be honest

no. maybe bc or nyu

Except Emory and Boston, all the others schools are reach. That ACT and unweighted GPA needs work.
What’s you weighted GPA?

3.8

Ouch…I think you need to reconsider your list of schools.
