Is it possible?

What are my chances of getting accepted to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, and UC Irvine in addition to Stanford and Johns Hopkins Universities?

I am really nervous for my future I have dedicated so many hours of my life to staying involved with improving my community. I would appreciate if any knowledgeable person would be able to tell me what my chances are for being accepted. Thank you!

Unfortunately I would say: it is possible but highly unlikely.

I’m sure you have seen the acceptance rates, the 25-75 percentile ranges of test scores and the average GPAs of the students who are admitted to these schools - and I’m sure you’re aware that your stats don’t fall within or near these ranges.

Are you a senior? If so, where else have you applied?
Do you have any other “hooks” that you think will severely impact your admissions decisions?

Your EC’s are great, and you seem like a very involved student, so without a doubt there are definitely other great schools that will surely accept you.

UCI is the only college on your list where I think you have any chance at all, and they are probably a reach for you. A childhood friend of mine has a daughter who dances in CA. That girl is at Humboldt State, and appears to be very happy.

@AuroreLA‌: I will be honest with you and say you have a very slim chance at being accepted at any of the schools on your list. Your list consists of Low Reaches to High Reaches. You need some Matches and safeties or you will be completely shut out. I would suggest you consider UCSC and UCR. Some possible Cal states such as CSULB, CSUF and CPP. You need to check the common datasets for each school of interest and target schools where your Stats are at or above the 50th percentile fo your Matches and Safeties. It is OK to have 2-3 reaches on your list, but not all. Good Luck to you

@fizzy110‌ Yes, I am a Senior. I have already been accepted to Whittier College, Mills College, University of the Pacific, and CSU Fullerton. I am still waiting to hear from CAL POLY SLO, CSU Pomona, CSU Northridge, Chapman, and Pepperdine.
My major is Biology.

I want to thank everyone for their honesty. I pretty much knew as much, I guess this was just to see if I had any future with a UC. I think also having my major is for sure going to give me a rejection letter, since it is so impacted at most of these universities. This whole process is definitely a learning experience. Thank you.

@AuroreLA, its good to be realistic, however you haven’t received anything back from most of them yet. I hope you find a few surprises! Also it seems like you have some great places to go to already - best of luck!

@AuroreLA‌: I am glad to hear you applied to several other schools than the ones listed and you have acceptances at many. If you haven’t heard from SLO, that will probably be a denial but you should have good results from CPP and CSUN. Pepperdine and Chapman could go either way. You still have alot of good choices and you will end up at a great school.

Mathematically: <0.01%
Practically: No.
All the UC schools are reach-high reach except UCI/UCSB. UCR/UCM would be good shots. though.

Glad to hear you got in somewhere! By the way, Pepperdine may not be your fit if you aren’t a devout christian.
