I have enrolled at community college and I plan to transfer in two years (mainly to save money) majoring in mathematics and engineering. I would love to go to Lehigh, but I do not know if it is really possible. My school is a very good one, but a community college none the less. My GPA was not that high in high school (I think it was about a 3.0) because I missed about 30 days each year due to problems with migraines. I was on Topamax during junior and senior too, so my SAT scores are not as high as they should have been (W600 M700). I really am exceptional at math; I was the best in my class every year in high school, and I got the only A in my school in Calculus (and one guy in that class got into Harvard). I am wondering if there is any possibility of getting in from a community college if I do very well and do a lot of extracurricular activities, or am I doomed for Drexel? Would they even accept the credits? I have tried looking on their site but I have not found much information on the subject. Thanks.

I transferred into Lehigh from community college as a math major. After two years of college, Lehigh will not even look at your high school performance. My only advice is to do well the next two years and you will be in. My guess is a GPA within the range of 3.5 - 4.0 as well as exceptional performance in all of your math classes will get you in. Good Luck!

Recommendations will also be crucial. Make sure your professors find you memorable -- in a good way, of course! -- and ask your favorites among them for recommendations.
