Nothing on that website is a lie. Do a little research and trust the admissions officers when they say what scores are acceptable. Don’t just try to go for the collegeconfidential quick-fix

dude how do you have 6 5s on math/science APs. did you take both calculus tests, stats, bio., physics b/c, and chem?

Physics C is 2 exams. So BC, Physics C, Bio, Chem would already get you five.

It’s not hard, I have the same amount (or 7? not sure) and I was deferred. Test scores arent everything. Once you hit the baseline numbers it’s more important to have the right personality.

no i know about physics c being in 2 exams, but there is probably 1 or 2 kids at my school that have taken all of those exams by end of junior year.

well i have bc, physics c, chem, stats, compsci, bio.

physics c in my opinion is really just 1 cause its a 1 year course

but my real question is if those scores will off set my “average” SAT scores. offset meaning im competitive amongst other applicants in terms of numbers . (not considering other important factors such as personality, etc).

dude, relax.

the decisions are already made.

and on top of that, unless your entire life revolved around the SAT, there is much more to you than just a bunch of numbers.

so relax, make a grilled cheese sandwich and smile :)

I love that last comment dinkswizzle :)

yea man… as along as your scores are within a certain range they don’t really matter anymore

I’d say once you are in the 700s + in each section range.. “who you are” is that they focus on. I know this is true of MIT and i assume that’s how it is at other schools

I second gukki5. I think they dont really care if you got a 750 or a 790. a 700plus should be good enough to show that you can handle the academic pressure at MIT
